The Town of Brookfield www.brookfieldma.us/ is located in Central Mass. part of Worcester County, along the Quaboag River which is used by many canoeists, kayak's, and fisherman. The river also has several areas that are protected as wildlife management areas. Quaboag Lake offers many waterfront homes and also has a public boat ramp and is a great lake for fishing.
Brookfield Massachusetts was settled in 1664 but Incorporated in 1718. A marker lies along Rt 9 to showcase the route that General Henry Knox took from Ft. Ticonderoga to Boston to end the siege of Boston. For this reason there many antique and colonial single family homes through the historic center of town .
Population as of the 2000 census was 3051. The main part of the town lies at the intersection of Rt 9 and Rt 148 and has a total of 16.6 sq. miles. It is 18 miles West of Worcester and 30 miles East-NE of Springfield and 57 Miles West of Boston.
